OSHA fines Black & Decker Subsidiary $79K. Part for electrical safety violations.
This is a strong example of the new agressiveness and focus of OSHA on electrical safety. It is the 4th most common killer so shock and arc flash safety are really becoming a higher focus for OSHA. Companies who implement ANSI Z10 compliant safety programs, work on SHARP (OSHA small business designation) or VPP status with OSHA will develop the safety processes which make business less risky for safety and many other risks out there. Insurance isn’t the only risk management tool. Preventative maintenance, safety and improvement processes are the best tools for risk management. Good thing to see investment in companies here to make them better and help us compete in the world marketplace.
