OSHA has now enforced GFCI’s from a newer OSHA standard which is part of the 2000 NFPA 70E Chapter 1 and 2 OSHA adopted an promulgated in 2008. GFCI’s are now required by OSHA for contruction AND maintenance. Read the OSHA press release…

This is continuing proof that arc flash hazard awareness and safety is going mainstream. Though this suit in the UK claims to be an excellent arc flash suit it leaves out a detail which is important. It has no hood/facepiece testing on the suit in the literature. The IEC standards have no requirements for testing hoods for arc protection. Without ASTM F2178 I would not recommend buying an arc [...]
