Another example of lack of training. Larger companies buy smaller companies but if they don’t assure the smaller companies have adequate training and policies in place they can have negative consequences.

AU Powerlineman electrocution fatality. No arc flash additional injuries involved.

This utility uses arc rated clothing so the additional worker probably did not receive an arc flash or because of unignitable clothing he was kept from injury. Most fatalities are electrocutions. Work methods, shutting off the power and wearing proper shock PPE are critical.

Arc Flash in Manhole in London caught on video

This arc flash/blast was caught on video in London England. No one hurt but the blast is fairly significant. No worker’s present. Interesting the advertisement before the blast video story is for cotton. Not my choice for working in a manhole.

My bet from reading this is that they had an arc flash. They were probably wearing arc flash clothing (ConEd has rules on this) because the burns for ignited clothing are usually critical not just serious.
