It is commonly believed around the world that arc flashes are “freak accidents” just as most believed in the US in the early 1990’s but groundbreaking work by individuals like Ralph Lee, companies like Duke Energy, Dupont, Bussman, AB Chance LG&E Energy (eON) and our ASTM committee have shone the light that electric arc flashes are predicitable, the consequences are predictable, the events are preventable, the energies are reducable and the PPE is powerful (now I sound like a preacher).
