Three contract employees of Ottawa Hydo suffered electrical shock when the boom on a machine used to install utility poles came into contact with overhead lines. One man was seriously injured & required CPR, while the other two received electrical shock in attempting to rescue their co-worker. Click here to read the article dated 3/22/12.

When preparing to remove a 20′ section of pipe supported by hanger straps at a Pine Bluff Arsenal construction project, a subcontractor was electrocuted when the pipe slipped and one end came in contact with an overhead power line. Click here to read the article dated 3/14/12.

While leaning against a boom truck, a Sac City, IA, man was electrocuted when the arm of the 50′ boom contacted an overhead power line. His co-worker had been working in the bucket cutting tree branches. Click here to read the article from 3/14/12.

A Tasmanian worker controlling the boom from which concrete flows was burned when another portion of the pumping truck came into contact with high-voltage power lines carrying 11,000 volts. He sufferd entry and exit burns from the shock. Click here to read the article from 3/1/12.

Several workers sustained injuries while assisting a mobile crane hook-up equipment near overhead power lines. Both were knocked to the ground following a bright flash of light. One is in very serious condition, while the other suffered burns. Click here to read the report from BC on 2/17/12.

A 25 year old Colorado man was electrocuted while trimming trees when the arm of his bucket came into contact with a high-voltage line. The 20-year-old man was electrocuted when the bucket he was using to paint a barn came into contact with an overhead electrical wire. He was flown to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead. An investigation of the incident is pending. Click here to read more about Illinois electrocution

A worker who was using a boom truck to position a sign was severely shocked in Charlotte, NC.
