Teen Electrocuted on High Voltage Tower

So much energy was pulsing through the transmission lines of the electric tower that Blake Hubbard climbed that the teen may not have touched anything before he was shocked and fell.

A report submitted Monday by Duke Energy officials to the state utility commission indicated Blake, 14, could have been shocked because he might have touched a transmission line or because he had climbed too close to the high-voltage equipment, a Duke Energy spokeswoman said Wednesday.

Critical Injuries in TX Power Plant Explosion

Lawsuit Filed Against WalMart for Death of Inexperienced Subcontract Crew in MA

A NZ farmer checking on his stock was electrocuted due to a downed power line.  The live wire had fallen from a nearby power pole which had caught fire at the top dropping the insulators and line near to the ground.    The man’s wife was also seriously burned when she attempted to get to him. Wisconsin Worker Dies in Electrical Accident – OSHA investigating

OSHA is investigating the Dec. 9th  death of an employee in an electrical accident at a Wisconsin meatpacking plant.  The victim was transported to the hospital and pronounced dead.  Details were not released and the OSHA investigation is pending. OSHA Cites Texas Drilling Operation Following Electrocution of Worker. Proposed penalties $130K.

Federal OSHA has cited Ringo Drilling LLP following the June electrocution of an employee who was working on the drilling rig.  One citation was for failing to provide training on the hazards of electrical equipment.  Proposed penalties total $130,200. New Zealand Electrician Critically Injured in Electrical Accident

January, 2012 : A 22 year old electrician was critically injured while working on an electrical socket at a New Zealand Cafe.  An employee heard him cry out and immediately switched off the main.  The electrician was in critical condition when he arrived at the hospital but has been updated to serious but stable condition. HSE Fines UK Firm £10,000 Following Electrical Accident
